Product Details

Menopause is the natural ageing process that all women experience in mid life. The symptoms of menopause are caused by changes in your hormones levels, particularly oestrogen and progesterone. As your ovaries become less functional, they produce less of these hormones and your body responds accordingly.

The changes that lead up to menopause commence over several years. The most common age for menopause to begin is about age 52, yet it can also happen anytime between the ages of 42 and 56. When menopause arrives, the symptoms which accompany it can be very upsetting and may present an emotionally and physically challenging time.

When early menopause signs including night sweats, hot flashes, mood swings and weight gain begin, it's imperative to do something about them. Menowel is a highly effective herbal menopause supplement that works naturally to diminish the annoying symptoms of menopause. There's no reason to accept the symptoms of menopause or to have to put up with them; Menowel can help you regain your life.

The most common symptom that signals the beginning of menopause is irregular menstrual cycles that are often heavier or lighter than before. Other menopause symptoms to look out for are night sweats, hot flashes, vaginal dryness, fatigue, occasional sleeplessness, weight fluctuations, short-term memory issues, itchy skin, and mood swings. These bothersome symptoms can last from 5-10 years and can affect your career, your home responsibilities and most importantly, your relationships.

Dong Quai (Angelica Sinensis) is a perennial plant that is found at high altitudes in the mountainous regions of Japan, China and Korea. The thick, light brown root of the Dong Quai herb has been valued for thousands of years for its vast array of medicinal applications.

Dong quai is most commonly used to treat gynecological problems. This "female herb" or herb for menopause has been used for centuries in traditional Chinese medicine because its phytoestrogenic properties can stabilize female hormone levels, easing a great deal of menopausal and menstrual symptoms.

Dong quai can be used to treat blood disorders and also works as a mild sedative, a stress and anxiety reliever and a mild laxative.

Dong Quai increases levels of oestrogen (a hormone that plays a key role in several bodily functions) by substituting natural human hormones with plant hormones called phytoestrogens, which have a chemical structure very similar to estrogens. Dong quai contains many curative properties. A few are listed below.

Angelica sinensis (Dong Quai)

The use of red clover as a herbal remedy goes back centuries, and the plant enjoys a history of both topical and internal applications. As a topical aid, red clover is often an ingredient in liniments and balms, for relieving the pain of both eczema and psoriasis, for sores, burns, and as an aid against skin cancer. The pain-relieving properties of red clover are likely due to the presence of the anti-inflammatory compounds eugenol, myricetin and salicylic acid in the flowers. Salicylic acid also demonstrates activity against eczema.

Red clover is considered to be one of the richest sources of isoflavones, which are water-soluble chemicals that act like oestrogens (known collectively as phytoestrogens). Red Clover is therefore used for hot flashes/flushes, PMS, breast enhancement and breast health as well as lowering cholesterol, improving urine production and improving circulation of the blood, to help prevent osteoporosis, reduce the possibility of blood clots and arterial plaques and limiting the development of benign prostate hyperplasia.

Trifolium pratense (Red Clover)

Black cohosh has a long history of medicinal use by North American Indians to address gynecological and kidney disorders, malaise and sore throat, colds and cough. Black cohosh was also used as a home remedy in 19th-century America to induce menstruation, and was prescribed by physicians in the Eclectic tradition to address conditions related to women's reproductive organs.

Black cohosh is still occasionally used topically to treat skin conditions such as acne, wart and mole removal.

Black cohosh became a popular treatment for women's health issues, and today is widely used to help regulate oestrogen levels and provides symptomatic relief from hot flushes, vaginal dryness, relief of menstrual cramps, premenstrual syndrome (PMS), and depression, typically after two weeks of use.

How black cohosh works is not precisely known. The most current research indicates that black cohosh interacts with neurotransmitters such as serotonin and norepinephrine, and inhibits inflammation. It does not have estrogenic activity.

Actaea racemosa (Black Cohosh)

Kudzu is one of the earliest medicinal plants used in traditional Chinese medicine. It has many profound pharmacological actions including anti-alcohol abuse activity. Although both the roots and flowers of kudzu, respectively, have been used to treat alcohol abuse safely and effectively in China for more than a millennium.

Kudzu possesses plant steroid hormones called phytoestrogens that are very similar to the oestrogen post-menopausal women are deficient in. One of the major problems faced by post-menopausal women is the development of diabetes, obesity and metabolic syndrome due to the lack of normal oestrogen levels. Hormone replacement therapy is not a desired alternative because it increases the risk of a woman developing breast or uterine cancer.

However, researchers have found that the phytoestrogens from Kudzu actually mimics human oestrogen by binding to tissue specific oestrogen receptors in the female body—with the exception of the breast and uterine tissues. Therefore, phytoestrogens from Kudzu might prove to be useful as a safe oestrogen replacement therapy for post-menopausal women.

Pueraria lobata (Kudzu root)

For centuries, this plant has been part of Chinese medicine. It is used to treat fatigue, inflammation, stress and high cholesterol levels in the blood. It is also antispasmodic which is ideal for morning sickness in pregnant women and asthmatics.

Wild Yam abundantly contains natural progesterone from its fat called diosgenin. This fat has similar molecular structure to that of progesterone found in women. This hormone enables the balance of oestrogen in the body. When this hormone enters and stays in the breast in great amounts, it can stimulate fat tissues to increase in size, roundness and firmness.
